Books with accompanying material
Books
1) Process book as usual.
2) Place one “Accompanying Material” piece label (the one that refers to the CD-ROM, DISK, or AUDIO CD) inside the front cover next to the accession number.
3) If there is not enough room next to the accession number, place the label on the facing page and draw a red arrow to it.
4) Using scissors and/or an Xacto knife, remove the disc/k pocket from the book.
CD-ROMs
1) Place the disc in a jewel case.
2) Place the accession number on the left edge of the
case, centered between the top and bottom edges (the
accession number consists of a letter plus six numbers
and should be in the accompanying material pocket or
paper-clipped to a nearby page).
3) Place the spine label that says “RESERVE” in the
front upper left corner of the jewel case.
4) Place the “Accompanying Material” piece label (the
one that refers to the TEXT) in the front upper right
corner of the jewel case.
5) Place a copyright notice sticker on the front lower
right corner of the jewel case.
6) Using black or gold marker, write “WSU LIBRARY” and
the accession number on the center of the disc.
3 ½ inch floppy disks
1) Place the piece label that says “RESERVE #####
DISK” on the front of the disk. It is fine to cover
up information.
2) Place one accession number just below this piece
label on the right side of the disk.
3) Place the disk in a Tyvek disk jacket.
4) Place the “Accompanying Material” piece label (the
one that refers to the TEXT) in the front center of
the disk jacket.
5) Place the second accession number in the front upper
left corner of the jacket.
6) Place a copyright notice sticker on the back center
of the jacket.
