Cataloging & Metadata Services

About Us

Cataloging and Metadata Services consists of four professional and seven adaptive catalogers who share responsibilities of cataloging monographs, scores and media, serials and integrating resources, government documents, archival and special collection materials, and web resources.

Cataloging staff create and edit MARC records utilizing the library automation system Endeavor Voyager. Staff are increasingly involved to digitization and digital projects and explore non-MARC metadata schemas, DSpace and other bibliographic database management and information retrieval software products.

Cataloging and Metadata Services supports the Libraries' mission of learning, teaching, and research by providing intellectual access to the collection through building and maintaining the library catalog, digital repositories and other bibliographic databases for discovery and retrieval of scholarly information.
