Corporate Annual Reports

   Annual reports beginning in 1975 from all companies listed on the New York and American Stock Exchanges are available on microfiche in the Ablah Library. Reports beginning in 1978 of selected over-the-counter companies are also available on microfiche. The microfiche collections include 10-Ks and proxy statements for all New York and AMEX listed companies, plus selected over-the-counter companies. The library also has paper copies of the annual reports of many Fortune 500 companies. Children's Literature Collection

   The Children's Literature Collection supports courses in children's literature, adolescent literature, and multi-cultural literature that are offered by the College of Education. Faculty, students, staff, and special borrowers and their families are welcome to use the collection as well. The books are found on the west side of the second floor of Ablah Library. The collection includes over 14,000 titles for all ages of children and features both classic and new titles for children.

Leisure Reading Collection
   The Leisure Reading Collection is a collection of recent, well-received fiction and non-fiction works intended to help support the leisure reading needs of WSU faculty, staff, and students. It is located in the Reserve Reading Room on the first floor of Ablah Library.  The collection is not intended to duplicate collections found in bookstores or public libraries, but to provide a sampling of diverse titles with recreational and educational value that are being read and discussed by members of the WSU community.  For information on the collection click here.

Media Resources

   Ablah Library houses the Libraries' video and DVD collections. These collections are located in the Reserve area and are selected to support the curriculum with a special emphasis on the performing arts. All library titles have records in the Libraries' online catalog

 

Map Collection

   Selected geographical, political, geologic, and topgrpahic maps are housed in the Reference Department on the first floor of Ablah Library. A collection of early maps of Kansas is located in Special Collections and can be accessed through

Micromedia Collection

   The collection consists of 1,096,000 items in microfilm, microfiche, microcards, and microprints. Series and individual titles are listed in the online catalog and in special bibliographic tools in the Reference collection. 

   Back issues of selected newspapers and other materials in micro format are housed in Reserves on the first floor. University Libraries has readers and reader-printers. Copies may be made for 25 cents per page. For assistance with this equipment, go to the Reserve Desk.

 

Music Scores and Recordings

   The University Libraries' collections of performance scores and sound recordings are housed in the Thurlow Lieurance Memorial Music Library. Many of these holdings are listed in the online catalog; others are listed only in the card catalog in the Music Library. Scores and sound recordings circulate to faculty only.

 

Newspaper Collection

   University Libraries subscribes to a number of state, national, and foreign newspapers and maintains them for a limited time in the Reserve area of the Ablah Library, first floor. Ask at the Reserve Desk for recent daily and Sunday issues. Back issues of selected newspapers are listed in the online catalog and are available in microfilm or through Internet links to selected Kansas newspapers. Many other newspapers are also available on the Internet via the Libraries' Website. Ask at the Reference Desk or call extension 3584 for more information.

 

Reference Collection

   Located on the first floor of Ablah Library, the Reference Collection consists of major bibliographic tools and selected fact books. They are arranged by Library of Congress classification and listed in the online catalog located by "Ref" above the call numbers. The Reference collection is non-circulating.

Theses and Dissertations Collection

   Theses and dissertations produced at Wichita State University are housed in Special Collections and University Archives. Second copies of many of these theses and dissertations are available in the circulating collection on the second floor in the call number range LD2667. They can be identified in the online catalog by author, title, and subject.
