FEDERAL: The Wichita State University Ablah Library became
a federal
depository library in 1901. In 1991 the library also became a Patent
and Trademark depository library. Federal depository libraries
exist to make federal government information accessible to the public.
There are 18 depositories in Kansas. Wichita
State's
collection is located on the library's main floor
and is classed in the Superintendent of Documents Classification
System. Documents published after 1976 are in the Libraries'
Online Catalog; however, many historical documents are not yet
cataloged. Please consult with the Government Documents staff
if you need assistance. The Government Documents Office is the
glassed-in area just beyond the Reference Desk.
STATE, COUNTY, CITY: Ablah Library is also a depository for the State of Kansas.
These materials are shelved with the main collection, and all have
records in the online catalog. We also have the codes and many
publications of Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita.
