essay.
The Photography

This is primarily a biographical dictionary of photographers although some terms
are defined here. Along with many photographs the work also contains sections
listing awards, book reviews, films by or about photographers, museums, a time
line and etc..

The focus here is upon the technical aspects of photography including
cinematography, video and electronic still (still video) photography.

Indexing photographic reproductions in over eighty books and catalogs, covering
images from the 1820s through the 1970s, this volume indexes primarily artistic
and documentary works. Part I lists anonymous photographs chronologically,
part II indexes images by photographer, and part III indexes images by subject
and title.
