
Wichita State University Libraries Hosts ELSUG 2008
The Wichita State University
Libraries recently planned and hosted the October 9-10 ELSUG conference.
ELSUG (Ex Libris Southcentral Users Group) is a conference focused on library
automation solutions for
Ex Libris customers in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and
Texas.
Ex Libris is the leading
vendor of integrated library systems in the United States and counts as client
libraries
45 of the 50 top North American university libraries and all of the top ten
universities worldwide. Ex Libris
automation products are used in 74 countries on 6 continents.
The busy 2008 conference
attracted 81 attendees, featured three programming tracks, and offered 20
programs
related to library integrated systems, acquisition of bibliographic data for
libraries, statistical reporting and
analysis, document delivery services, Google book searching, and other library
automation initiatives. WSU
Libraries was well represented offering presentations on dynamic mapping, online
catalog redesign, and
metadata transfer.
