In terms of from where they made the greatest use of electronic resources, nearly half of the respondents used e-resources from their campus offices or residences. Smaller but nearly identical numbers used e-resources at the Main Library or from off-campus offices or residences. Very few respondents accessed e-resources from locations outside of Wichita or from either of the two branch libraries – Music or Chemistry

There were some significant differences in where the different groups of users surveyed accessed electronic resources. About 63% of faculty and 51% of staff accessed e-resources primarily from on campus offices while relatively few graduate or undergraduate students did the same. Both graduates and undergraduates were more likely to use the Main Library and off-campus offices/residences as the primary location for using e-resources than faculty. Also, undergraduates indicated even greater use of the Main Library and off-campus locations than graduate students. Graduate students had the highest percentage of use at locations outside of Wichita than other groups.

Most faculty respondents – 63% -- indicated they mostly used electronic resources from on-campus offices. The other two locations used primarily by faculty but in significantly fewer numbers was the Main Library and off-campus residences/offices. Not surprisingly, most Library faculty indicated more use from the Library while all of the other disciplines showed on-campus offices as the primary location. Numbers of on-campus office users were particularly high among faculty in Engineering, Fine Arts, Sciences, and Social Sciences. A comparatively high number of Humanities faculty indicated the Library as a primary location.

The number of responses to this question was relatively small among graduate students. Overall, not surprisingly, most of the use of e-journals indicated by graduate student respondents originated from the Main Library, on campus offices/residents, and off-campus offices/residences. It is interesting to note the strong showing for the Main Library compared to remote access, Also, a very high percentage of Education students respondents – nearly half – used e-journals from a remote location outside of Wichita – the only group of students with that type of response.

The most frequent location for accessing electronic resources – no matter what the discipline -- was the Main Library, followed closely by off-campus offices/residences, among the undergraduate students that responded to the question.
