Resource of the Month

Each month,
the WSU Libraries features
a "Resource of the Month" designed to highlight new, interesting,
under-used, large,
unique, or otherwise noteworthy collections and
resources. You can learn more about the RoM on this website, from the display in the
reference area, by attending a
workshop (if available), or by contacting the Reference Desk at 978-3584.

Vault is
a free service provided by
WSU Libraries and
Career
Services and is an excellent resource for information on
careers, employers, industries, internships, job interview advice,
and much more. It is a company dedicated to helping the job
seeker compare company profiles. It gives the user an "insider's"
guide to major corporations and law firms. The profiles reveal
current company activities, secrets on interview questions and
tactics, and company work environments.

The workshops are free and held
in Room 217 of Ablah Library. The workshops will be conducted by
Randi Lindquist, Office of Career Services. Although
registration is not required, it helps assure that there are
enough workshop materials. To register for a workshop, please

How Do I
Access Vault
There is a
link on the WSU Libraries' website under Electronic Resources /
Electronic Databases. You have the option of looking for it under
the subject links or the alphabetic links (http://library.wichita.edu/colldev/electrondatabase.htm).
If you are accessing the Vault from off-campus you will be prompted
to enter your MyWSU ID and Password for authentication
purposes.
Why Should
I Use Vault?
Vault offers
career management information for job seekers. It posts job
openings for top employers and has free access to 80 career guides. The website includes "insider" information on over 3,000 companies and
70 industries that is continually updated and carefully researched. An expert-moderated message board is a way to learn more about the
latest trends in the workforce, network with other job seekers, ask for
job advice, and read about current corporate and career news. You
can sign up for E-newsletters on various topics that give detailed
information from experts in the field.
In the Vault
guidesm, you will find advice on resumes and cover letters, as well as
interview and networking tips. There is a Career Library Tour which provides starting points to career interests, industry
information, company information, internships, and graduate school.
