Resource of the Month
December 2007-January 2008
Each month WSU Libraries' Department of Collection Development features
a "Resource of the Month" designed to highlight some of the library's new, interesting,
under-used, large, unique, or otherwise noteworthy collections and
resources. You can learn more about the "Resource of the Month" on
this website, from the display in the reference area, by attending a
workshop (if available), or by contacting the Reference Desk at
978-3584.
If you are
interested in learning more about a previous "Resource of the Month,"

OverDrive is a digital download service from the
State Library of Kansas which allows you to download
free audio books, music and video to your computer.
Once you download the files from
OverDrive, you can enjoy digital downloads on your
PC, transfer the files to a
compatible MP3 device or burn certain titles to CD
and listen to them in your car. Try it today!

The
workshops are free and although registration is not necessary to attend,
it helps assure there are enough handouts. For more information or to

How Do I Access OverDrive?
There
is a link on the WSU Libraries' website under Electronic
Resources / E-books. This is open to Kansas residents
only and you must have a
Kansas State Library Card. You can pick up your
State Library Card at the WSU Libraries’ Circulation
desk. Using the OverDrive software, which is free, you
can download digital media to your computer, transfer to
a portable device, or burn to CD. The loan period is 14
days with a maximum of 10 items being checked out at one
time.
