The Reserve Collection contains materials in high demand, generally
those needed for class assignments. These materials are placed in Reserve on a temporary basis by instructors for courses being taught that
semester. Faculty may designate library books and videos to be reserved
for their class or provide personal copies of books, videos, and photocopies of
articles.
Current WSU students, faculty, and staff may check out items placed on
Reserve. Because reserve materials are high demand items, they may not be renewed.
Reserve is located on the first floor of the Ablah Library.
Its collection includes current periodicals, foreign and domestic newspapers,
new books, the Leisure Reading Collection, microfilm, microfiche, videos, DVDs,
audio cassettes, and equipment.
How To Find Reserve Material
A listing of your instructor's course reserve materials is available
in the WSU Libraries Online Catalog. To access this listing, click "Course
Reserve" from the search menu.
To search, choose at least one field by clicking the arrow and highlighting
your selection. You may search each field individually, or all fields simultaneously,
if you prefer.
Materials will be listed alphabetically by title. After making your selections, click "Search". A list of materials
will appear. Choose the item you need, copy the call number, and take it
to the Reserve Desk. There are four loan periods: 2 hours (Library Use Only),
1 day, 3 days, and 7 days.
Some items will be available electronically.
Simply click on the "electronic copy" link and the item will be
displayed in .PDF format.
