Where can the laptops be used? The laptops may be used only in Ablah Library and may not be taken outside the library. The laptops may not be taken into the foyer or the E.K and Kathlien Edmiston 24 Hour Study Room. I need a laptop for a presentation I am doing in class. Can I take a library laptop to my classroom? No. Laptops may only be used in the main part of the library. For information regarding laptop checkout for off-campus use, contact the Media Resources Center - Campus Media Services (978-3588). Can I check out more than one? A student may check out only one laptop at any given time. Can I reserve a laptop in advance? Laptops may not be reserved in advance. All laptop checkouts are on a first come, first served basis. How long can I use the laptop? Laptops check out for up to three (3) hours. All laptops are due one hour before closing. Laptops checked out within three hours of closing will have a shorter loan period. Can I renew the laptop? A laptop can be renewed once as long as there is no waiting list. Files may not be stored on the hard drive. All files saved on the hard drive are automatically deleted when the computer is restarted. I have a program that I want to use while I'm here. Can I install it on the laptop? No. You may not install personal software, change system settings, download plug-ins, or attach unauthorized hardware. When I print something from a laptop, where do I pick up the print job? Print-outs may be retrieved from the center printer on the first floor by the Reference Desk or from one of the printers on the other floors. To retrieve a print job, insert a Shocker Card or blank copy card into the print station and click on the desired file name. Print-outs are $0.07 per page. What if I have a problem with the library's laptop? If you have a problem with the laptop, bring the laptop to the Circulation desk immediately. The Circulation staff can solve most problems.
