Broader scope makes this a good source for undergraduate research.
INSPEC--indexes journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, books/book chapters, product reviews, and dissertations in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computer science, and information technology from 1969 to the present (help guide).
IOP Electronic Journals--searchable fulltext of IOP journals.

High Energy Physics Information Center--HEPIC is funded by the Department of Energy Divison of High Energy Physics and is supported by the Fermilab Computing Division. It offers a Global HEP Search that searches several HEP web servers simultaneously.
The NASA Astrophysics Data System's search interface allows simultaneous searching of the following abstract sets: Astronomy & Astrophysics/Planetary Sciences/Solar Physics; Instrumentation; Physics & Geophysics; and Los Alamos Preprint Server. Links to fulltext articles are available.
